Hey there teammates! I hope you all have settled into your summer routines, including summer training. I've started the workout schedule and while doing 12 reps of anything is difficult, I know it'll help me start off next season well. I've also started swimming again, which was weird and disorienting at first, but everything felt normal again after the first thousand yards. And yes, I did make sure to work on my kicking. My summer is going to be almost entirely spent here at RPI. I have a job as a Student Ambassador with admissions and I'll be giving tours of campus soon, so if you see me with a group of visitors, feel free to say hi! I'll be moving into an apartment on 14th and Eagle soon that will also be my home for the upcoming academic year. David Connor will also be living in that house, but on a different floor, so we won't get too sick of each other. This week I've been staying at a friend's apartment and slowly learning how to be more of an adult, with skills such as cooking a tasty and nutritious meal, shopping for groceries, and making a budget. I'm definitely excited to start this new chapter of my experience at RPI, and I'm looking forward to hearing about your guys' summer experiences on this blog!

Hey guys, I hope everyone is having a good start to their summer! It’s been nice getting away from classes after finals. I haven’t started working yet for the summer so right now I can focus on keeping up with offseason training and enjoying the finally nice weather. It’s also been great spending time with my family and being able to see some friends. Yesterday I spent 5 hours at my sister’s championship track meet and it was really interesting to see some of the differences between swimming and running. It would be very weird to be able to see your splits while you’re swimming and to be able to hear and see the people who are cheering for you but this is the case for runners. I have also gone to the Y every day so far to either swim or lift and it’s definitely an adjustment from pool and weight room at RPI! I discovered this morning the med balls at the Y near me leave dents in the wall when you try to do med ball chest passes. I’m looking forward to the rest of my summer and I hope everyone has a great summer! Also, good luck to all those starting new jobs/internships!

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well on their finals and studying for the last few. Thankfully I only have one left on Friday and then I'm out of here. I can't wait to go home to see my family and friends and just be done with school for awhile. This summer I'll be going to Italy to work with family friends at a small engineering firm. I'm really excited for the experience and also a little nervous to be there for so long. I already talked to a club team that swims at pool about 10 minutes from where I'm staying and I'll be training with them some. Last time I was in Italy, I trained with a local club team and it was a lot of fun to see how other teams train especially in another country. The house I'm staying at is right at the beach so I'll probably try and mix in some plyos on the beach with the other summer workouts Drew sends us. Who knows how much actually work I'll be doing with the World Cup this summer, but I'm sure it will be a blast. Good luck on the rest of finals and have a safe trip home! Also good luck with summer training and come back stronger!!

WE DID IT!!
We almost couldn't make it down to the approach with a giant gate in our way. Luckily we had Sam, the eagle scout to lead us. It wasn't an easy task, but we ran the approach 10 times, with no serious injuries! For us, that is a huge success. Running the approach seemed like a pretty daunting task but we all survived. Some started off a little too fast, we needed Meg there to help us with our TEMPO. It may not have been the most fun thing we've ever done, but it sure was an experience.

Over the weekend a couple of us decided to take on The Amazing Race to test our ability on land. We came equipped with awesome matching outfits and very intimidating nicknames. We were ready to blow the competition out of the water!
(D...Dang, Killer, Bazooka, Storm, Sniper)
At our first stop, all we had to do was get a stamp, easy enough. But then we got to the second stop where we were quickly reminded that we were not meant to be on land. We had to throw rubber ducks off the side of the JEC into little pools below. Sadly, we got pasted by another team. But not all hope was lost!! We still had 8 more places to go! Well, then we got passed by another team at our next stop, and two more while digging for flags in the volleyball court..... but we kept truckin on. We got to do jumping jacks and push-ups while singing barbie girl (Yes, they took a video of us), a blindfolded obstacle course, and we had to pull each other across a field on tarps. We even got to see Marissa and Ellen on our adventure! After ten tiring, but fun, activities, we finally made it to the finish line! We came jogging to the field with a group of people applauding us. "Let's hear it for our last place team!!".
Yeah..... We came in last, but we don't see that as a waste of a day. We all got and incredible workout, had some good laughs, and it benefited charity!
(Thanks to Annika's fancy wrist thing)
We were the only coed team and the only team who matched! We got a lot of compliments on our outfits so we totally would've won Best Dressed... if that was a thing.
After running up and down stairs and all around campus, we are ready to hit the approach!!
(No, that's not sweat on our shirts, that's from when we had to carry cups of water while having balls thrown at us!)
LETS GO RED
