Hey gang!
I hope everyone’s summers were fantastic! It was awesome to see you all at the barbeque and I can’t wait to start seeing you on a daily basis soon, it’s been far, far too long! Singapore was fantastic; I missed the freezing winter you all had, and I got to visit some amazing places. I spent Chinese New Year at a turtle reserve on Tioman Island which is just off the coast of Malaysia (it’s also one of the prettiest beaches in the world according to Time Magazine). I then spent spring break in Vietnam where I travelled to Sapa and Ha Long Bay, Vietnam is the best place I’ve ever been, hands down. A couple weeks later my family visited and we spent a week in Thailand, a couple days at the beach and a couple days in Bangkok (we actually stayed in one of the areas that was closed off because of protestors, so that was pretty cool).
That being said, I’ve never been happier to be back in America (USA! USA!), upon returning I went to three weddings in May, so cool to see swimmer alumni! I worked this summer at Crestron Electronics in New Jersey, which was a really great experience. They tailored the job to what I wanted to do so it was a mix of design and engineering; I redesigned their basic control system that goes in colleges and meeting rooms around the world. I started the project and it would have taken about 9 months to complete, but if it ever gets finished it would go in all Microsoft conference rooms around the world, so I mean I’m kind of a big deal.
So anyway I’m super excited to be back! I’ve been lifting all summer, but I couldn’t find a pool in New Jersey so I’m a little out of swimming shape, and a little nervous about swimming with this freshman class. I got in the pool yesterday and swam a 500 though so I think I’m pretty much ready.
See you soon!
Faith
