Hi All,
Well it’s been quite the summer. I’m kicking it here in
rural New Hampshire which is more exciting than it sounds. I’m working at BAE
Systems, which is a defense contractor, as a Technical Intern but doing the
work of an entry level mechanical engineer which is excellent. Electronic
Combat Solutions, the sub-sector I’m in, specializes in electronic warfare
systems for military aircraft but I can’t tell you about what I’m working on…
Sorry! It’s a great experience and I’m having a lot of fun and doing things
like root cause analysis, design work, and vibration and thermal analysis and
tests. I play the first base for one of the teams in our company softball
league so I run around some bases a few times a week for exercise. Just kidding
Shannon! I’m lifting a couple times a week and running because the only pool
near me is being repaired. Running is not nearly as much fun as swimming. It’s
actually quite awful and I wonder why people decide that running 26.2 miles is
worth doing. I’ve hiked a few 4000 footers this summer and some smaller
mountains. Jordan and I are planning a trip for next Tuesday to do The Great
Range up in the Adirondacks before school starts. It is 7 peaks and 20+ miles
which could be quite challenge if we decide to try and do it in one day. We’d
be looking at going for about 15 hours straight if we do that. But if our
previous strength coaches have taught us one thing, it has been how important
mental toughness is. I think Jordan and I can push through it just like we’ll
to push through the challenges that Shannon and the other coaches throw at us
this year. I’m 100% ready to come back and prepare to defend our Liberty League
Championship title!
LET’S GO RED!
